David Lyttle has served as Executive Director of The Arts Council of Mississippi County since December of 2005. He was born in Memphis, TN, and as a child lived with his family in Jonesboro, AR. In his youth David was an Eagle Scout. David earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR, and a Masters of Theological Studies from Drew University, Madison, NJ. He has worked as a teacher, a travel counselor, in youth ministry, in retail management, in senior housing and long-term care management and operations, in hotelmanagement, and in general building operations. His work experiences have taken him to New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, California, Kansas, Oregon, and Washington. In the arts, David has sung in choirs across the country and performed with several local community theater groups. Through Arkansas State University he traveled to Carnegie Hall in New York City, to Florence, Rome and The Vatican in Italy in 2010, again in New York City concert at Lincoln Center. For the past four years he has performed with several choirs at ANC, participated in several tours and festival choruses and he is an active member of the church choir at First United Methodist. David served as President of the Blytheville Kiwanis club, is an appointed commissioner for the Blytheville Museum Commission developing the “Delta Gateway Museum”, serves as a Secretary of the Arkansas State Museum Advisory Council, is a 2008 graduate of the Blytheville Leadership Institute, and has served as a volunteer and ex-officio board member for Main Street Blytheville.
